A special presentation of bikes to the Kansas City Police Department and the Metro Police Department was held on Monday, October 24, 2005, at the Arbor

Villa Park, 66th Terrace and Main St.  

 

In August 2005, Officers Danelle Williams and Brandon Harpold made a request to the Community Police Action Cooperative (CPAC) for new bikes for Metro Patrol.  Within two months, over $6800 was raised to purchase six bicycles, accessories for the bikes such as sirens and lights, bike racks, and tools to maintain the bikes.  The donations raised came from individuals, neighborhood associations, and businesses throughout the communities of Brookside, Waldo, and Southtown.  Major contributors included the Armour Hills Homes Association, Bank of America, BKS Real Estate, Cosentino's, Dr. Patricia Stewart, DVM, Baptist-Lutheran Medical Center, Morningside Neighborhood Association.

 

On September 17, 2005, the first annual Falldo Waldo Crawldo pub crawl was held, thanks to the event coordination by Chris Lewellen of Lew's Grill and Bar, along with 75th Street Brewery, Bobby Baker's Lounge, Kennedy's, Tanner's Bar and Grill, the Waldo Bar, and Coors Light and Captain Morgan, the remaining balance needed to purchase the bicycles was raised.
