Concordia
entered the 2005 NAIA National Tournament as the #11 seed. The
Eagles looked to return to the championship game for the third
consecutive year after a runner-up finish in 2004. The Eagles
took home the NAIA National Championship in 2003. Their record
of 36-4 was the most wins in all of college basketball in the
2003-04 season.
The
Eagles were 26-9 on the season. Concordia finished in fourth
place in the Golden State Athletic Conference and went on to
defeat regular season champion Azusa Pacific for the Golden
State Athletic Conference post-season tournament championship.
